There are so many different Christmas gift baskets you can make without spending a lot of money. Many of them can be made with just items or ingredients you have in your house or that you have picked up while out shopping. Below are just a few of the ideas:
· Soup lover's gift basket - In this basket you can include a mason jar filled with beans, pasta, and spices that can be included in a favorite soup. Place the directions in the basket or attach them with a bow to the jar and the recipient can add beef or some vegetables and they have a great warm soup for the holiday. Add a package of salty crackers and a chunk of cheese and you have a great gift basket.
· Hot chocolate or coffee lover's gift basket - Buy a bulk package of hot chocolate or a favorite brand of coffee, put in a few packets of the chocolate or coffee, a couple of inexpensive Christmas mugs, a few mints and candy canes and you have a great holiday gift basket full of things that every hot chocolate or coffee lover can enjoy.
· Puzzle gift lover's basket - Do you know someone who enjoys working puzzles or doing crossword puzzles? You can find many of these at the dollar store (normally 2 for $1) and fill the basket with a few. Add some small chocolate truffles and you have the perfect gift for your puzzle lover.
· Movie lover's basket - Get a couple of packs of microwave popcorn, some DVD's from the clearance or a gift card to a Red Box if you can afford it and put them in a basket. Add a couple of bottles of soda and someone will receive a wonderful movie package.
· Bath time lover's basket - Include a lot of scented soaps, bubble bath or body wash, a puffy or soft wash clothes, a scented candle and a CD with some soothing music. This will get the recipient in the mood for a lot of bubble baths and relaxation to come.
· Reader lover's basket - If you have someone who likes to read, nothing says love like a book gift basket. You can get used books at many stores (most of them look like new), throw in a mug with some hot chocolate, some chocolate truffles and the basket is complete.
No matter what type of "lover" you have in your home or you have to buy for, you can come up with some great ideas with just a little creativity. Put some decorative or colored wrap around the basket, or even some wrapping paper, close it at the top with a bow and give the Christmas gift of love to someone you know.
